DISCUSSION TOPIC:
Hope For The Hopeless!

BIBLE READING:
Isaiah 49: 1-13

Qs. 4,7. See Questions HERE.

DISCUSSION:

As at this time, the Israelites would have been greatly disappointed. The world powers, Assyria and Babylon, were only agents of oppression and slavery (v. 4). Their wooden and metal gods could not deliver them. How did Israel express her hopelessness in v. 4? No matter how circumstances of life make us to look at ourselves, "God's gifts and His call are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29). How would you explain this in the light of vs. 1-3 and 6? God's agenda and plans for our lives always stand even if the enemy wants us to believe otherwise. What are those areas of your life that needs God's reassurance today?

What kinds of servitude are you into that make you think you are not fulfilling God's purposes for your life? Read vs. 6-12 again as if this is written personally for you. V. 10 seems to be looking far beyond the immediate into the future of the Church as we read in Revelation 7:15-17. Read this verse again and be comforted in all your sorrows today.

And so:

Shout for joy, for the Lord comfort His people.

Prayer:

Ask for divine inspiration to give you and all others hope.
