I wanted to have a fourth child, mostly because my mother was the middle of three kids, and advised me not to have three children. But #4 never showed up. Like you, I wonder whether I would have been able to deal with another child later in life.
I let the grandbaby crawl up the stairs a couple of times, and was surprised to see she knew how to slide back down on her tummy. My daughter was also surprised when I told her that. She must have learned it at day care, but I can't imagine they have many steps to practice on there. Maybe she's just smart! But we still need the baby gate at the top of the stairs because she careens around the house so crazily, she could easily lose her balance and topple down.
Oh dear. Head stuck in the bars. It must have been traumatizing!
