I wouldn't have thought that Gregorian Chant and heavy metal could somehow be combined effectively, yet I see it has been done.

That ongoing high-pitched tone in the Perfect Dark tune was so annoying, I gave up listening to that one quickly.

The Mission Control snippet also contained some long, higher-pitched tones, but they changed often enough to keep it interesting and not annoying. Also, they were not as piercing. Rather pleasant background music, actually.
