I have no experience with the corporate world, but I do have over 40 years of experience with the world of homemaking. Most of my tasks have to be done over and over, so only the discerning can tell they've been done. This includes dishes, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and garden work. I have always been busy, especially when my children were young, and also when I was teaching them at home. A stolen hour to sit and read a book was a luxury. I rarely watched TV. Now I'm older, and I move more slowly and have less energy. Even though I have less to do since I'm not raising children, everything takes longer so I am still always busy. I know what I have accomplished each day, even though it might not be visible to anyone else. Finding time to read a book is less of a challenge, for which I am grateful.

RE: The “Appearance” of Being Busy
