This movie for me was mostly just a style exercise and visually stunning with not much more.
I remember watching in the cinema switching between being in ahh of the perfect frames and images while being distracted watching my phone and thinking about other things. The most joy I actually got was seeing the end screen. Eggers need to go beyond just good visuals.

All the praise for the ecellent cinematography is very much deserved though
