This is a tunnel that goes under a mountain, just beyond the trees is the Pacific Ocean. The trail leads around to an older Miltary instalation that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and at one time protected the California coast.
As you can see from the shadows of the tall trees, nature has really begun to reclaim this spot.
