Long Lake Rope Swing Fun

A few weeks ago, my son, his friend, our dog, and I all went backpacking and camping at nearby Long Lake, near Donner Summit, above Truckee, California. The trip was full of little "fails" but many good times were still had. The sky was filled with a haze from wildfires at sunset and sunrise and did not make for very good photos (I tried... fail).

However, we did a fair amount of swimming and had some rope swing fun, I'd say that was the highlight of the short trip. I finally had some time to work on a couple of the shots, here they are:

There's a lot going on in the world right now, but I'm guessing there's a good chance you've heard a bit about the fires in California. We're not in any immediate danger in my area but the dry windy conditions have been scary and the photo opportunities have been scarce. The smoke in the air is bad. Shoots have been rescheduled and sunsets have been mostly duds. Really, I shouldn't complain, there are far worse problems one could have. I hope everything is going well in your life!
