It seemed wise at the time. Soil is stable, right? Surely the valley will cease to incise out of respect of our smooth and impermeable surface. And the increased loads of pollution that are funneled away are probably harmless. I drink it and I'm just fine...if it ain't broke, we must not have a sufficiently accurate diagnostic report!
