No one can vote for their own post (self-vote).

The system unfortunately allows for it. There are also differing schools of thought on the matter. In the past, I believe it was favored because it's the author approving of their own work. I think that was an old thought though. Nowadays, people are seeing it differently.

I also agree that DV shouldn't be done unnecessarily. I do appreciate it though when a comment stating a reason for it exists.

Rule-making also is not as easy as people think it is, but I believe we'll get better at it moving forward in this community.
