I think the reasoning for repeating things is due to a loss of data. Every generation or iteration of a thing loses something at least in terms of communication. We can't convey all the data of our experience to the next generation. Something is going to be lost. We can minimize that loss of information, but we can't eliminate it because our lives are finite.
