In your settings they ask you to upload your Steemit profile and then right below it asks you to upload your cover url. Now if you are a newbie you're thinking cover huh? Well its really not as complicated as you think. The cover is in your profile section, when people go and look you up and think to follow you, they will reach your profile page and this is where you need your cover.
The steps for creating a cover is really similar to the steps I used in my previous article - How To Create Your Steemit Profile With Free Tools. Once again we are going to use the free tool Canva. If you haven't already got your free account, so sign up otherwise log in.
- Then click on use custom dimensions.
Next you want to put in 800 width by 210 height and click design.
You now have a blank canvas that is the correct size for your Steemit cover.
Now you can let your creativity flow and design what you want, set whatever background you want. Do keep in mind that any pictures you use should be royalty free. A site like Pixabay is perfect for this reason.
Play around until you find something you like. Remember you can change your header as often as you like.
Once you have your design, download it to your computer - save it as a .png file. Then upload it to the free site imgur.com.
Once uploaded, click on it to get the url, it ends with .png, copy the url.
Paste the url into your settings under the cover image url, save, wait a few seconds and refresh.
