You are right! But what can we do?

Arena Tournaments are not fair by default, they are here to be fun and only the best can win it. I often told weaker players that they should not resign early, but they do it anyway, so the stronger players get more games and more points.

On the other hand the swiss tournaments are also not fair as you may join later and get a point for doing so, also reducing the number of rounds and therefore making the pairings unfairer.

I am working on a more advanced version with stronger rules, but who will read my posts? We saw this in the odds games and the thematic tournaments. Some just want to play and do not care about rules, they think the lichess rules are here to use and thats it.

At least we have the payment for all the same, that is a big advantage to everyone. No matter how you play you get payed the same as everyone.
