Since joining Hive, I started to try some curation trails using https://hive.vote which is a nicely designed tool, I don't get time to do much curation myself and I follow a few users who I believe are in good standing within the community, if they like a post its probably worth my upvote too.
I have also tried in the past to assist in keeping the blockchain free of those wishing to game the systems, with these dodgy delegation accounts and a few projects like SteemCleaners have had my support over time. Problem is I'm sporadic, and I don't have the full-on commitment to follow through. So when I saw that there were well respected downvote trails in the HiveVote tools, that seemed like a great idea. I applied them and forgot all about it.
Well I forgot until I actually made some of my own posts, which initially got some good support only to be down-voted to zero. At first the penny didn't drop, could my Actifit posts be offensive? My writing style isn't great, but surely some photos of my garden flowers and the number of steps I took cant be too much..?
When I looked at who was down-voting me, its started to get clearer, all accounts with lots of large delegations, probably sock-puppets. A look on the https://hiveblocks.com/ explorer revealed the truth, my curation trail for down-votes was adding my down-vote to these sock-puppet-shit-posters, and they were retaliating in kind.
Well, that's good news! I mean it, I don't give a rats arse. I'm nothing on Hive, a water-flea on the back of a minnow, I'm not here to get rich, this is a fun diversion. By all means down-vote away in retaliation, I don't make enough to care, and while you are wasting your time on me, you aren't doing it to anyone else, ha-ha. Downvote this if you like, whatever :)
