The worst thing that can happen to a mortal is losing sight of God or not knowing him, because his condition is totally sad because he is spiritually dead because he is a slave to sin. Man is not poor because of what he has or has not, he is poor because of what is in his heart and if his heart does not have God it is impossible that there is no poverty.
