_Mi pequeño pueblo: Villa de Cura, en el estado Aragua, en Venezuela, está de fiesta por haberse cumplido este 25 de mayo 2023 los 301 años de su fundación. Su nombre completo es "Villa de San Luis Rey de Cura" ya que su santo patrono es San Luis Rey santo que fuera Rey de Francia ,conocido como Luis IX de Francia, y también como Ludovico Nono, Rigió los destinos de Francia desde 1226 hasta su muerte en 1270. Y lo de "Cura" por el río "Curita" que atraviesa la región. Ese nombre tan largo es sustituido por el de "Villa de Cura" o simplemente "La Villa" _

My small town: Villa de Cura, in the state of Aragua, in Venezuela, is celebrating the 301st anniversary of its foundation on May 25, 2023. Its full name is "Villa de San Luis Rey de Cura" since its patron saint is San Luis Rey a saint who was King of France, known as Louis IX de Francia, and also as Ludovico Nono, ruled the destinies of France from 1226 until his death in 1270. And that of "Cura" by the "Curita" river that crosses the region. That long name is replaced by "Villa de Cura" or simply "La Villa

A pesar de que su territorio geográfico es pequeño, con una superficie de solo 448 km² (278.374 millas²) la importancia de su ubicación geográfica que le hace ser paso obligado para quien va a la región llanera de Venezuela o regresa de ella, se le llama "La Puerta del Llano". Y tiene aún otro apodo "La Atenas de Aragua" debido al intenso movimiento cultural que le caracteriza, habiendo sido cuna de importantes músicos, poetas, escritores, artistas plásticos, actores y artesanos. Sus talabarterías son famosas a nivel internacional.
Quise compartir con ustedes fotos de una parte de las celebraciones como lo son el adorno de calles y casas con símbolos patrios como la Bandera, los araguaneyes (árbol nacional de flores amarillas) y objetos del pasado que se guardan como reliquia en cada casa y cada familia

I wanted to share with you photos of a part of the celebrations, such as the decoration of streets and houses with patriotic symbols such as the Flag, the araguaneyes (national tree with yellow flowers) and objects from the past that are kept as a relic in each house and each family
Orgullosos de que nuestro pueblo haya sido fundado por el abuelo del Libertador Simón Bolivar •||• We are proud that our town was founded by the grandfather of the Liberator Simón Bolívar
El pueblo fue fundado por treinta familias que ocuparon las primeras treinta casas de estructura humilde que mandó construir, juntamente con su iglesia, el Capitán fundador don Juan de Bolívar y Martínez de Villegas, Capitán de Infantería, Alcalde de Caracas, Teniente de la Capitanía General, Justicia Mayor de los valles de Aragua, Corregidor de San Mateo y padre de don Juan Vicente Bolívar, por lo cual llegaría ser más adelante abuelo de Simón Bolívar, el respetado Libertador de Venezuela.
_ Las fotos que acompañan este post las tomé en la calle Sucre, una de las tantas que ornamentaron sus viviendas para mostrar su alegría por el aniversario de su "patria chica"_

_Vivimos entre muchas dificultades, lo que para nadie en todo el mundo es un secreto, aunque no es igual enterarse de algunas noticias desde lejos que vivirlas en carne propia día a día, pero seguimos siendo, a pesar de ello un pueblo que canta, que ríe, que trabaja, estudia y mantiene la esperanza de que algún día veremos y viviremos tiempos mejores. _
