Sick or ill both are for me having the same meaning.
On last Friday I was in the ICU in 2 hospitals then I had a medical procedure to check my heart by cardiac surgery because of my high blood pressure.
I met very nice medical staff in the second hospital in the ICU before the surgery .
I left the second hospital after 9 hours from the procedure end.
