Welcome back! I want to welcome everyone again. Today, I’d like to discuss a small yet very important topic. These platforms are always a bit challenging for beginners, and we learn a lot through those challenges. Today, I will discuss 5 significant challenges faced by new users on the Hive platform in detail.
Number One: Private Keys and Password Management
The biggest and most frightening thing for beginners is saving the various keys or passwords on this platform. On Facebook or other regular social media, you can log in just with an email and password, but here, from the Master Password down to the Active Key and Posting Key, everything has a different purpose. Being a bit careless or losing the keys risks losing your account forever, which is extremely concerning for beginners.
Number Two: Understanding Various Wallet Tokens and Balances
The calculations for Ecency Points, HP (Staked Hive), HIVE, and HBD (Hive Dollar)—as seen in the wallet—feel quite confusing to beginners. How each token works, which one needs to be staked, and which one remains liquid is not clear at first.
Number Three: Reward System and Earnings Calculation
The calculations for the rewards earned after working here feel quite complicated to common people. Determining post values, how Hive Dollars or other rewards are added, and how to claim rewards takes quite a few days to master.
Number Four: English Language Usage and Communication
Most discussions and posts on this global platform happen in English. For those who aren't very fluent in English, expressing thoughts and staying in touch or commenting with members of other communities becomes a major barrier. Due to not knowing the language, many lag behind despite creating good content.
Number Five: Platform Rules and Maintaining Consistency
The platform has its own culture, community rules, and ethics—such as providing copyright-free content, using correct tags, and staying active regularly. Beginners often post without knowing the rules, leading to frustration. However, with regular practice and proper guidelines, overcoming these challenges and becoming a successful content নির্মাতা (creator) is completely possible. Everyone stay well.
