My perfect weekend is when time slows down, and nothing needs to be planned. Because most of the days of the week are planned. There cannot be any unplanned time on weekdays to manage house and office work properly. So, I have to plan my weekend in such a way that it is very unplanned.

If I am sitting in the winter sun, I will stay seated until I no longer feel like getting up. If I am sleeping, I will continue sleeping until I no longer feel that way. If I have to sit and look at a flower for hours, then no one should say that I have been sitting there for 4 hours. If I sit on top of a cliff, no one will say, “Come down, it’s dark.” I can walk on empty roads until I don’t want to stop. I would love this kind of weekend.

From Monday to Friday, my week is well planned, waking up at 5.30 in the morning, preparing the kids for school, then my exercise, and breakfast. Look after the plants, spend some time with the cat, and feeding the birds. If there is a foster cat in the house then the schedule becomes even tighter. They are mostly sick or injured. And then thinking about lunch and dinner. Those who cook food, I am sure they can relate it is a real task every time thinking about what will be cooked next. I have kept two menus in my fridge, one for summer and one for winter. Still, following through requires planning, like getting the relevant groceries, etc, needs planning.

Then my office. And since I work from home, I manage all my work in a calendar, scheduling calls and focus time, completing the task in a designated time. All this time management makes me crave the weekend so I can go back to my unplanned time and be unplanned again.

Every end of the year, himalayanwomb@himalayanwomb and I go on a trip somewhere. Our planning is simply to have the relevant equipment and supplies to keep us safe. Now, if we've taken a vacation and decided to get closer to nature, then we'll live it like nature. And mostly in those trips we do not take other people, so that we enjoy it without too much planning.

Planning everything is limiting all the beautiful moments, conversations, and life exepeirences. It is also limiting our conciousness around our surrounding. I completly agree to have a planned things to manage the life better, at the same time having unplanned weekend gives pause to the fast life and we may cherish things in slow motion.

Unplanned weekends allow me to live each moment and escape from the routine of a planned life. Creating an atmosphere free of pressure, free of restrictions, and allowing me to enjoy the moment as it is.
