Hi everyone! I'm Sarah Stierch a.k.a. SarahVain!

I'm a professional writer and photographer living in beautiful Sonoma, California, in the heart of American Wine Country.

When I'm not writing and photographing for a living my passions (wine and travel), I'm contributing to Wikipedia, where over 11+ years I have contributed over 800 new articles and hundreds of thousands of edits.

My nickname, Sarah Vain, is my old DJ name. Yup, I was a club DJ for about 10 years in the Midwest, spinning electro, punk, new wave, industrial and gothic music.

I'm originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. The photograph of me above was when I was shooting the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. I've been to 30 Indianapolis 500 races!

Prior to living in Sonoma, I resided in Washington, D.C. (mere blocks from the White House!) and Oakland, California.

Before I became a writer, I was a consulting museum curator at the Smithsonian Institution and Colonial Williamsburg.

I am a journalist, writing for national and regional publications. Currently, I write about wine and travel for Sonoma Magazine (http://www.sonomamag.com) and wine for Wine Enthusiast (http://www.winemag.com).

I review a lot of wine. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it, right?

I'm also a photographer. My work has been utilized by the NBA, California State Parks, National Park Service, Buzzfeed, Christian Post, the Utne Reader, Red Bull, Motorburn, the Financial Observer, Lonely Planet and many more.
