Steem may reach $20 someday but it is not likely to happen by the end of 2018 which is less than 6 months away.
We have been in bearish market sentiment for a while now we may not see a crazy bull run like last year. this time around it seems it will be a slow grind.
As with all altcoins they heavily depend on BTC movement so does steem. so steem to reach $20, bitcoin has to be in $25k+ which also means that the whole market would be crazy high from current levels and all that is not likely this year.
Steem is due to release Steem Media Tokens, SMT this year. it should help increase the price of steem but it will not help it to $20.
Steem is an inflatory currency and with new tokens added to the economy regularly it only slows price increase.
Maybe by the end of 2019 we should see steem peak to around $20 but it may not stabilize above $20 it will be more like a pump before settling at a lower level.
