Honoring loyalty and spreading joy this festive season- giving back to the hands that help us everyday - They eagerly wait for this festival for the annual reward.
As I mentioned in my last post, Dussehra is all about welcoming positive energy and good vibes into our lives. A truly meaningful aspect of this festival is showing appreciation to the people who support us every single day - especially our domestic helpers and house staff.
They look forward to this festive season all year for their annual reward. For us, gifting isn't just a formality. We believe in gifting them clothes of the exact same quality and value as the ones we buy for ourselves. We don't believe in cutting corners or giving something just for the sake of it. These are the individuals who take care of our homes year-round, and treating them with genuine respect and gratitude creates a lasting bond. Doing good for others is our way of inviting those positive festive vibes into our own lives.
To find the perfect gifts, we went straight to the Bunkari showroom - the very same store where we shop for our own family. After exploring several options, we handpicked a couple of beautiful outfits. We want our house help to feel like an extension of our family, so we prioritized high-quality fabrics, even if they cost a bit more. After all, this is an annual token of appreciation, and seeing them happy makes it completely worth it. Finding loyal and trustworthy people can be challenging these days. We feel incredibly fortunate because our house help is exceptionally faithful and dedicated, making our daily lives so much easier to manage.
You will be fascinated by the collection they have and the way the showroom is maintained. Let me show you some more photos of the place. Most of the time the sizes run out quite fast because our traditional wears are incredibly popular, especially given that we have so many festivals back-to-back.
Beyond our household help, I also make it a point to voluntarily give a good festive reward to the society security staff. These individuals work round the clock, enduring tough shifts to keep our families safe. Sadly, a disheartening incident happened in our society this year. The guards were politely asking owners for festive tips, but a few residents complained, leading to a strict ban on them asking for anything.
It is incredibly unfortunate that people who are financially well-off can be so tight-fisted. These workers labor hard just to put food on the table for their families. Giving them a small token of appreciation once a year will not hurt anyone’s pocket. It breaks my heart to see that so many people only love to accumulate wealth for themselves but completely forget to give back to the community that serves them. Festive joy becomes real only when it is shared with everyone around us.
