I am a newbie on Hive and found out about this community and luckily, I have played chess for quite some time, around 9-10 months in 2021 when there was a Covid-19 Lockdown all over. During that time I played a lot of chess and learned and practiced chess with heart.
I read some posts here, including about the tournaments, how it works, rewarded shares, and the community members' posts about games and puzzles.
I WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE TOURNAMENTS AS WELL!
I am a high school student and a keen learner of new things except studies and chess is one of them I earlier shared how I played and when I started playing but here's a catch,As the lockdown got over and normal life began, I didn't get enough time to play chess and therefore I play very very less, very!
Recently in school, we had a chess tournament and I won though.
Still, if you learn something for a year with heart and then you spend the rest half a year without even touching it, you lose many things you learned during that 1 year but still, I w believe I should not be caring about now and with honesty, I would be attending the tournament matches. I have a question:
I only played on Chess.com before and never on Lichess but when I got here I saw that Lichess is the software that is preferred here so I downloaded Lichess for that. you see how excited I am? haha...
Lastly, my Chess.com ratings were 1350 Rapid and around 1250 Blitz, I have heard this varies on Lichess it is kind of up on Lichess but as I have recently joined Lichess, my ratings are still of a beginner there. Let's see what could be done about this. If you have any thoughts on this, it would be nice if you could share. Winning-losing is different but I have to say I like this type of community.
I hope this is ample information for an introduction to the community and I hope you have enjoyed reading through it.
Thank you and have an incredible rest of your day!
