Flying Manatees

I love manatees and always wanted to draw one. Well did long long time ago with pencil hidden in a really detailed artwork called ‘redefine’. But not how I wanted too. So I decided to try it today and use reference which I barely do. I don’t want to trace it as I want to create my own style.

So I googled manatee and picked a cute one.
reference photo

Don’t know who took the photo can’t find the credits. If you google manatee you see so many cute blobby manatees it’s awesome :) I hope to do more of them in the future. I created this on my iPad Pro with procreate :)

Here are some screenshots of the progress. Also a small thumbnail of the reference. I drew some forms first to find the proportions.

Well hope you like my artwork and seeing the progress shots. I’m going to fly on some manatees. And what are you going to do this weekend?
