I have always found this question surprisingly difficult to answer, because I don't think I have ever committed to just one. My favourite colour honestly depends on what I am looking at, what I am wearing, and sometimes even what kind of mood I am in. If you opened my wardrobe, though you might come to a very different conclusion. I really like wearing black. Black clothes, black shoes, black watches, black accessories... if there is an opportunity to make something black, I will probably consider it.
There is something about black that just feels simple and I also like how easy it is to combine with almost anything. You don't have to spend ten minutes wondering whether your clothes are going to fight each other. Black feels generic to me, clean. A little serious, perhaps, but also comfortable.
But then there is the funny part. If you asked me what colour I would paint my living room, I probably wouldn't choose black. Beige would probably win that argument. For a living room, I prefer something much warmer and softer. Beige has that feeling of making a space feel comfortable without becoming overwhelming. It gives the room a bit of warmth and makes it feel more relaxed. It is strange when you think about it. The colour I like putting on myself is completely different from the colour I like surrounding myself with.
Then there is green. I also really like green, especially when it appears naturally. Plants, trees, grass, landscapes... there is something about being around green that feels refreshing. It has a completely different energy from black or beige. Green feels alive, while beige feels calm and black feels simple.
So if someone asks me, "What is your favourite colour?",Honestly, it changes. I think that is probably what I like about colours in the first place. They don't have to mean the same thing everywhere. The same colour can make you feel completely different depending on where you see it.
