Money is an important element of life. Money can buy you everything you want. Many would argue that money cannot buy happiness, but I guess without money you would not be happy also. Personally, I am not a money minded person and I am at peace with what I have, but would definitely not mind if I had more. My husband is quite opposite to me and holds reputation as a higher asset over money. For him his reputation is everything. He always says that if his reputation gets a dent it would be very hard for him to survive.

Why did we discuss this? Well, not every couple discuss this I guess, but we were forced to discuss this when we got to hear about a news at his workplace where a promising young chap of a very reputed parents commited forgery and make quite a good amount of money through it. Was he successful? Well, not exactly, the authorities got to know about it just in time and when they went to arrest him, he consumed poison and is battling for life at a city hospital.
My heart aches for his parents who are broken seeing their young educated son battling it out at a hospital with a tarnished image. It is hard to prove him innocent for he has all evidences against him. If he makes it out alive then he would be arrested and charged for his crime to be eventually put behind the bars and if he dies, his parents would loose their son who they had nurtured with love and care. It is exactly the opposite of win win situation for them.
My husband, while telling me about the incident, kept repeating that he would die of hunger, but would never commit a crime intentionally to ruin his name and would expect the same from his kids. The entire institution is shaken with this incident and are wondering what led that honest individual to end up doing this crime.
It is sad that young kids are driven away from the right path all because of their greed. Some may see death as an ultimate solution to all their problems, but the heart ache that they give to the loved ones with their mindless step is immeasurable.
