Good day everyone! How are you all doing? I hope your day went well. As for me, I can't really say it was a good day, but I also can't call it a bad one. It was just one of those days that leave you somewhere in the middle.
Ever since the World Cup 🌏 event started, I haven't been playing much of the EFootball League mode. The main reason is that league requires me to log in and download updates almost every day because Konami has been releasing frequent updates throughout the World Cup tournament. Since I don't always have enough mobile data, or sometimes I don't have any at all, I decided to stay away from league mode for a while.
Instead, I've been spending my time in the Exhibition mode, recreating World Cup moments and making my own match predictions. The best part is that Exhibition mode doesn't force me to update the game every single time, so it has been the perfect alternative.
Today, however, I felt like my league account had become dusty and rusty from being abandoned for so long. I decided to jump back into it, even though I already knew what was waiting for me. Anyone who plays EFootball on Legend difficulty knows exactly what I'm talking about. The AI suddenly transforms into prime Barcelona whenever it wants to score. Their passes become perfect, every tackle somehow falls back to them, your defenders forget how to defend, and your goalkeeper suddenly starts behaving like he has never seen a football before. Sometimes it genuinely feels like the game has already decided the outcome before kickoff.
I ended up spending more than three hours playing over 20 matches, but here's the funny part is that I only played against six different clubs. Why? Because whenever the Konami bots started pulling off their usual "scripted" magic, I'd immediately restart the match. I refused to let the AI steal points from me, so I'd keep replaying the same fixture until I finally won it. It was exhausting, but I was determined not to bottle the league.
To make matters worse, Liverpool had already overtaken me and climbed to first place. Now I'm chasing them down, hoping to reclaim the top spot. But here's where my conspiracy theory begins. Liverpool never seems to lose any matches unless they're playing against me. Every other club suddenly forgets how to play football when they face Liverpool. If I don't get another chance to play them before the season ends, then congratulations, I can already kiss the league title goodbye. 😂
Maybe it's just frustration talking, but sometimes it honestly feels like Konami has a secret contract with Liverpool. The scripting can be unbelievable at times, especially on Legend difficulty. One minute you're dominating the match, and the next minute your players can't complete a simple pass while the AI starts playing like they're possessed.
At this point, I think I'm going to take a break from league mode and grind Divisions instead. Hopefully the matchmaking there would be bit fairer because at least you're playing against real people instead of AI that occasionally decides it's invincible. If Divisions gives me a better experience, then I might just say goodbye to League mode for a while. 👋🤣
Despite all the frustration, I'll try not to let a game ruin my mood. At the end of the day, it's still just a game, and games are meant to be fun. Even though Konami tested my patience today, I'll cool off, laugh about it, and come back another day.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope your gaming sessions are less stressful than mine. 🎮⚽
