I decided to play one of the modes I have hated the most throughout my entire time playing Call of Duty Mobile. 😂 If you've been following my gaming journey for a while, you might already know that I'm someone who loves fast paced action, aggressive gameplay, and challenging fights. Unfortunately, Search and Destroy (SnD) has never been one of my favourite modes because of how slowly the matches progress and how many campers you'll encounter. And I'm not talking about ordinary campers who occasionally hide behind cover to catch their enemies off guard. I'm talking about those players who carry LMGs with ridiculously large magazines, allowing them to keep spraying bullets even after missing several shots. Eventually, they'll land enough shots to eliminate you, and they'll probably still have plenty of ammunition left. 🤣 This was one of the major reasons I disliked the mode because I felt like playing against such opponents wouldn't help me improve my skills. Instead, I feared that if I kept playing this way, I'd eventually become one of those campers rather than developing into the kind of skilled and aggressive player I wanted to be.
However, today, I decided it was time to challenge myself and experience a part of Call of Duty Mobile that I had been avoiding for so long. I wanted to see if I could survive against these campers without adopting their playstyle, so I made up my mind to stick with my Sniper Rifle and fight them the way I normally would. I wasn't interested in carrying an LMG just to counter them because I wanted to challenge myself and see how well I could perform with my preferred weapon. Unfortunately, our match took place on Crash, a map I also dislike because it has so many camping spots where enemies can sit patiently and wait for unsuspecting players to walk into their line of fire. 😭 I wasn't particularly confident about how the match would turn out, and since I wasn't ready to post content showing a possible defeat, I locked the gameplay for the match.
When the match finally started, I noticed something interesting: the enemy team was using more Sniper Rifles than LMGs. That was a little surprising because I had expected to encounter more LMG campers, but it turned out that most of them preferred sniping. Of course, that didn't mean they had abandoned camping! 😂 Search and Destroy is a round-based mode where both teams compete to complete their objectives, and as each round began, I noticed that some of the enemy snipers kept returning to the same strategic position. From there, they could watch a particular route and eliminate teammates attempting to pass through it. This became a serious problem because they were taking out several of my teammates before we could even get close enough to challenge them. After observing their strategy for a while, I decided to make it my personal mission to deal with those annoying campers. Whenever a new round started, I paid extra attention to that particular area and looked for opportunities to take them out before they could eliminate more of my teammates. Thankfully, I was able to accomplish what I set out to do, and it felt satisfying to turn their camping strategy against them. 🎯
Interestingly, the match taught me something I hadn't expected to learn. While watching the enemies camp around that area, I discovered a strategic position that I could potentially use in other game modes. From that spot, I could observe the opposite end of the map, including an area where players commonly emerge in other modes. Although the position might not be as useful in Search and Destroy because of the way the rounds and objectives work, I believe it could give me an advantage in other Multiplayer modes. So, even though I entered the match expecting nothing more than a frustrating experience against campers, I ended up discovering a new position that could improve my gameplay in the future.
As the match continued, I managed to secure several sniper kills, and with the help of one of my teammates, we eventually won! I have to give that teammate credit because, honestly, I believe he performed much better than I did throughout the match. 😂 He practically doubled my total kills, and watching how well he played made me realise that I still have a lot to learn about Search and Destroy. Nevertheless, I was happy with my performance because I had managed to contribute to the victory while sticking to my preferred playstyle. More importantly, I had faced a mode I usually avoided, challenged myself against opponents whose strategies frustrated me, and discovered that the experience wasn't as terrible as I had imagined.

The funniest part is that I didn't stop playing Search and Destroy after that match. Once I got a taste of the gameplay and started understanding how things worked, the mode gradually became more enjoyable than I expected. I ended up playing several more matches today. However, I soon discovered another problem with my loadout. Since I was using a Sniper Rifle to take advantage of the long distances on these maps, I could secure kills from far away, but I had completely neglected close range combat. Whenever an enemy managed to get near me, I struggled to defend myself and ended up getting eliminated almost every time. 😭 It was becoming clear that having a powerful long range weapon wasn't enough if I couldn't handle enemies who suddenly appeared right in front of me. I needed a way to balance my loadout without giving up the Sniper Rifle I had been enjoying.
After finishing one of the matches, I returned to the lobby to make a few adjustments to my Multiplayer loadout. Normally, I use a Wildcard that allows me to equip four perks instead of the usual three because I enjoy having those extra advantages during a match. However, I decided to sacrifice that setup and equip a different Wildcard that would allow me to carry two primary weapons. My plan was simple, I'd keep my Sniper Rifle for long range engagements and use a Shotgun whenever an enemy got close enough to turn the fight into close range combat. This way, I wouldn't have to abandon my preferred weapon just because I was struggling in certain situations. After making the adjustment, I felt much more prepared to handle different encounters, and it made the gameplay even more enjoyable.
Looking back at today's experience, I'm glad I finally decided to give Search and Destroy another chance. What started as a challenge against one of my least favourite modes turned into an enjoyable gaming session where I learned new strategies, discovered a useful camping position, improved my approach to dealing with enemy snipers, and realised the importance of having a balanced loadout. I still don't know if Search and Destroy will become one of my favourite modes, but at least I can say that I'm beginning to understand why some players enjoy it so much. And who knows? I might return to the mode again tonight to see how much better I can perform with my new Sniper Rifle and Shotgun combination. 😎🔫 Thanks for visiting, guys, and I'll see you in the next gameplay.
