Up here we see this artistic impression of a student of the Torah, where he arrives at the wrong conclusion that by the time of Noah, the entire human race was of giants. The Torah does not support this concept. The Torah states that the standard was men of normal stature, and that apart there were giants. It does not say that everyone on Earth was giants.
Yes, indeed it was, and all that we often hear and interpret about that was not so - by unlearned or false teachers infiltrated among the calls of Yahweh --- contradicts what the Word of Yahweh clearly reveals about this theme!
The Word of Yahweh interprets itself, and the sound doctrine that makes up that wonderful and profound "everything" that Yahweh calls "His Truth" --- and that we must be part of our emunaj and kodesh temples --- very much It is often found NOT IN ONE SINGLE PLACE OF THE TORAH, BUT IT SCATTERS throughout the Scripture; and as we well know, "line on line, line on line ... a little here, a little bit there, etc." The Scripture says: "ALL Your Word is Truth," and this is in every way. Therefore in the True Assembly or Kejilah of Yahushua all of us allow ourselves to be guided by the Ruach Ja Kodesh and by Yahweh. We can speculate, but we can not make doctrine of our speculation if it does not run parallel with the proof found in Scripture.
The Nephilim or Nephilim (Hebrew הנּפלים, nefilim, "demolitioners") are, in the Torah and other early Jewish and Christian religious writings, a people of giants or titans that are mentioned in Genesis 6: 4 and in the Book of Numbers 13:33. Originally in Hebrew nefilim meant "fallen" or "knocked down" but later it began to be translated as "giants."
So we can not come to the Truth without first having thoroughly scrutinized the Kodesh Word and considered all the relevant passages! Let's take a look at what the Word of Yahweh says, so that it is He who reveals the Truth about this seemingly disconcerting matter of the "giants" on Earth!
Here we see that these were not normal men, first they were giants, that is, they were men of a huge height. In the second place, they were terresteres, because above it says that they inhabited the Earth. Some people say that these "giants" (or the "sons of Elohim") mentioned there were "ordinary human beings" - like you and me. If so, how special would this event be for Moshe to have related it in the Tanach with such emphasis? Let's see how absurd that passage would be if we inserted the words "normal men" there:
"And there were normal men on the earth in those days also, after the normal men of Elohim joined the daughters of men, and begot them sons, these were the (brave) heroes who in ancient times were men of renown."
TOTALLY RIDICULO AND ABSURD. Were there "normal men on earth in those days too"? Apart from which others ...?
Apart from normal men, were there also "normal men"? The people who believe that Moshe was not in his right mind when he wrote this, are the ones that ARE NOT IN THEIR CABLES! But let's go to the next passage to see what else it reveals to us.
Here it is said that they are a RACE. Therefore they are not normal human beings, but another RACE of beings: a race of GIANT men! It does not refer to "figurative giants" but LITERALS. It can be verified because the one who relates it affirms that he felt "like a locust" (a rather small insect), and that likewise the giants conceptualized him and his family. And this is due to the obvious difference in height between a giant and a normal man. Regardless of whether they were there or not, in everyone's mind there was no doubt that there were giants in some parts of the earth.
Here we have another witness passage and we see that these titans / giants invaded different territories of the Earth in those times. They were not spiritual beings, because they lived on Earth and had giant bodies obviously of flesh and blood. Then in Deuteronomy we are given more details, and he refers to them as a human people (race) of great and tall beings, very powerful and difficult to resist.
In ancient history are mentioned different peoples who had these giant beings as rulers or gods, due to their enormous stature and strength. The Philistines were one of those peoples. Goliath was a giant man, literally. Also the ancient Sumerians, Greeks and Egyptians figure in history as peoples who at one time had powerful men and giants ruling or dominating them. Below is another passage where these giant men mentioned in the context of the Torah and the People of Israel appear.
"The Ephraim lived in it before, a large and numerous people, and tall as the sons of Anak: they were also giants, like the sons of Anak, and the Moabites call them emites, because only Og king of Bashan had been left behind. The rest of the giants: his bed, an iron bed, is he not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon: the length of it is nine cubits, and its breadth four cubits, according to the elbow of a man. (Deuteronomy 2:10, 2:11, 3:11)
"Did not, being young (David), kill a giant and extirpated the opprobrium of the people, when he threw a sling stone and struck down Goliath's arrogance?" (Ecclesiasticus 47: 4)
The Philistine Goliath, would have been refaita and measured six cubits and a span of height (about 2.09 m), his brother was a giant called Lahmi ("bread" or "Lahmu").
There were of these giants watered "all over the Earth" at any given time, and these were the heroes and brave men of renown of antiquity. But the Torah is a book mostly centered on the men of Yahweh and His chosen People, and it is not a book of the history of the ancient nations to be detailed. The nefilim are only a very small part of the central history of this book --- they are not its central part! Because of this, we will not find the complete history of the Nefilim in the pages of the Torah ...
The Torah speaks of the nations and their inhabitants in their relationship and context with the People of Israel or the Law of Yahweh. I note this, the mentions that the Torah makes of the nefilim are limited to the disobedience of the malakchim / angels, the flood and the time of Noah, the struggle with Dawid, etc., and not the importance, background and influence that these could have among the people of the nations.
In Greek mythology, the Titans are mentioned (in ancient Greek Τιτάν, plural Τιτᾶνες) very frequently as a race of powerful half-heavenly and half-human gods who ruled during the legendary golden age. Wikipedia publishes the following information found in the main encyclopedias of the world:
The twelve Titans of the first generation were led by the youngest, Crono, who overthrew his father Uranus ('Heaven') at the request of his mother, Gea ('Earth'). Later the Titans generated a second generation, highlighting the sons of Hyperion (Helios, Eos and Selene), the daughters of Ceo (Leto and Asteria) and the sons of Jápeto (Prometheus, Epimetheus, Atlas and Menecio).
Some names of second generation titans are the following: Poseidon, Atlas, Hercules, Helios, Perseus, Prometheus, Titanius, Colossus, etc. In the Strait of Gibraltar, formerly, there were two gigantic columns on either side of the coast, curiously called "the pillars of Hercules." They were destroyed after a strong earthquake and tsunamis.
In the five continents, archaeological remains of human skeletons have been discovered that show that gigantic beings lived on Earth. In addition to disorienting the scientific community, these remains support what the script says about "the giants" over time.
The Scripture contains abundant references to a race of giants that disappeared at the beginning of human history. The Hebrews referred to them as refaíms. "There the giants were born, the famous ones from antiquity, of high stature, skillful in war, but Yahweh did not choose them or make known to them the way of wisdom, and thus they perished for lack of prudence."
In Book 1 of Samuel (17.4), we read: "A man named Goliath from Gath came out of the ranks of the Philistines, who was six cubits and a hand in height, and covered his head with a bronze helmet. a flaked breastplate, also of bronze, of five thousand shekels of weight. "
If we translate the units used, his height would reach 3.20 meters, almost 12 feet. The armor would weigh 72.5 kilograms, or almost 160 pounds. As we saw earlier, "Og, king of Bashan, was the only one of the race of the Rephaim left, his bed, a bed of iron, is seen in Rabat of the sons of Ammon, nine cubits long and four cubits wide, human elbows. " Deuteronomy 3,11.
According to this text, the last of the giants, Og, slept on a hard bed of 4.5 meters (almost 15 feet) long by two (almost 7 feet) wide. According to the Jews, the Anakim (Anakites), Refaim (Refaites), Gibborim, Zamzummim, and Emim (Emis) are of the same Nephilim race, and all are names that are translated as "giants." Naturally, the world has a good number of unbelievers, and in the People of Israel too. Above all, the current Jewish rabbis and their followers deny these realities and distort them. Abba Yahweh says that the Israelites "were punished for their unbelief." The "natural branches were cut off by their unbelief," says the Apostle, and we know that Yahushua rebuked Thomas for his unbelief.
The "sons of Elohim" were fallen angels (demons) who united with human women. From these unions resulted a race, the Nefilim, a race of mighty giants, who were "the mighty men of old who were renowned men" (Genesis 6: 4).
Why would the demons have done such a thing? The Scripture does not give us a specific answer, apart from the rebellion that we know that the sheydim (demons) are listening to, but in the Torah there is mention of their disobedience. Judas vers. 6 tells us,
"And to the angels who did not keep their dignity, but abandoned their own abode (the heavenly one), he has kept them under darkness, in eternal prisons, for the judgment of the great day."
Demons are evil and crooked beings - so nothing they do should surprise us. Ja Satan, its leader, has an antagonistic plan to try to thwart every stage of the Kodesh Plan of Yahweh for the salvation of mankind. It is possible, within what the biblical panorama reveals and allows, that the demons tried to contaminate the blood of the human lineage, in order to prevent the coming of the Mashiach - Yahushua. Yahweh had already promised that the Meashiach would come from the lineage of Eve (Genesis 3:15), who would strike the serpent in the head - Satan. So it is very plausible that the demons would try to prevent this, contaminating the blood of the human lineage, and thus make it impossible for one day to be born a Mashiach without sin. Again, this is not a specifically "biblical" response, but it is very plausible and is not in contradiction with anything the Torah teaches.
What are the Nefilim? According to the Hebrews and other legends (the book of Enoch and other non-biblical writings), they were a race of giants and super-heroes, who committed acts of great evil. Its great size and power seemed to come from the mixture of demonic "DNA" with human genetics. All that the Bible says directly about them is that they were "valiant men of renown from ancient times." (Genesis 6: 4) The Nephilim were not aliens, they were literally physical beings produced by the union of children of God and the daughters of men (Genesis 6: 1-4).
The Nephilim were one of the main reasons for the great flood in the time of Noah. Immediately after the Nefilim are mentioned, the Word of Yahweh tells us this,
"And Yahweh saw that the wickedness of men was great in the earth, and that every design of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually. And Yahweh repented of having made man on earth, and it hurt in His heart. And Yahweh said: I will destroy the men whom I have created from the face of the earth, from man to beast, and to the creeping thing and the birds of the sky; for I repent of having done them. "(Genesis 6: 5-7)
So Yahweh proceeded to flood the entire world, killing everyone and everything (including this race of giants) except for Noah and his family, and the animals within the ark (Genesis 6: 11-22).
Genesis 6: 4 tells us, "There were giants on earth in those days, ...... and also after ..." This seems to indicate that the demons returned to repeat their sin at some time after the flood. However, it seems that this happened on a much smaller scale than it was before the flood. When the Israelites spied on the land of Canaan, they reported to Moses - "We saw there also giants, sons of Anak, race of the giants, and we were, in our opinion, like locusts; and so we looked to them. "(Numbers 13:33). Now, this passage does not specifically say that the Nephilim or giants were really there, only that the spies thought they saw the Nephilim. It is more likely that the spies met very high people in Canaan and by mistake, they believed they were the Nephilim. But again, if they believed that they could have been Nephilim, then it is because they surely knew that the Nephilim existed in some parts of the earth.
Or, it is possible that after the flood, the demons would once again have united with human women, producing more giants, as indicated by the passage that describes the giant of the Philistines, Goliath. Goliath was a giant after the flood.
Whatever the case may be, these second or third generation "giants" who lived near the eretz of Israel were destroyed by the Israelites themselves during their invasion of Canaan (Joshua 11: 21-22) and later in their history ( Deuteronomy 3:11, 1 Samuel chapter 17).
