Something I learned in rehab ten years ago was that addicts will always be addicts. And that money is no different to any other addiction. In fact, the buzz of a successful business transaction is as addictive as cocaine, and just as it is with any addiction we need more and more as time goes on to achieve the same high. I saw this so clearly during my 10 years in the UK porn industry. Men who swore they would never suck cock (pardon my french) were sucking cock within five years because everything else seemed so dull to them after doing all the regular stuff consistently. It's the same with the elite because after a while like you say, it can't possibly be about money any more. It's about something else. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but it feels like a child's game and the desire to be completely dominant within that game. So, in adult terms I suppose that would be a monopoly and total control of all major companies in existence. But perhaps the game is more satanic than I can possibly imagine and the goal is to kill as many people as they can while making them pay top dollar for their deaths. Hard to say not being in their position, but that would be my best guess.
