Perhaps it is as you suggest, my lack of experience with grassroots movements?

Or perhaps it was the total uselessness of my one experience (against the Iraq war) which has something to do with my current stance? Back then I used to pay my taxes and I recall feeling extremely annoyed they took my money and went to war with it. Perhaps I am even still annoyed by this?

Perhaps it was my father's life, dedicated to his final breath to the idea that he had the power to correct that which was incorrect. A notion which cost him everything, including any kind of inheritance for his children! Sorry I lie, he was able to leave me a hat. After once holding the title of richest man in the Philippines.

Perhaps it is the yellow vest movement which I covered here two years ago? It seemed highly significant to the point where MOST people were involved in some way, yet nothing has changed at all. On the contrary, things are worse.

Or perhaps it is my belief of what is to come for humanity? Some people will call it the end. Others will call it the beginning. But in short many people will die and activism won't be useful any more. Only skills which contribute to survival will be useful.

Can you give me some examples of recent activism which created lasting change? This might help me move forward in my thinking here...
