Installing the latest Steem software on MacOS can be quite tricky. So I made a Homebrew formula so everyone can install it quickly and easily!

I found formulas for previous versions of Steem, but they were out of date! Of course what good is that? Therefore I created a formula for the entire community to grab the latest version of Steem on Mac easily.

Step 1: Install Homebrew

/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

Paste that at a Terminal prompt.

The script explains what it will do and then pauses before it does it.

If you already have Homebrew installed, skip this step

Step 2: Tap the repository

This step is optional but recommended. It just makes it easier to always have the latest version of Steem installed on your computer.

brew tap samrg472/steem

Step 3: Install

After tapping the repository, all you have to do is run the following command below:

brew install steem

Skipped step 2? No problem, installation is still a single step but you may not get automatic updates. Install it by running the following:

brew install samrg472/steem/steem

Enjoy!

Check it out and create a pull request for further improvements. This is my first created formula and was a great learning opportunity. I'll update when the next Steem version, 19.1, is released.
