I think this is even more clear in sports. Confidence is always mistaken for arrogance.

Is it possible for someone to be confident in certain areas and lack confidence in another? For example, I’m pretty confident when I play chess and when I’m prepared for my opponent. But on the other hand I lack confidence to relate to certain people I consider are above me. even though I know I should not feel that way, it’s a bit difficult because it starts from respect and a bit of low self esteem. But put those people on the 64squares, I’d view them differently.
