Hive Onboarding - A Meetup With the Chess Family

Not the regular planned Hive Meet-up, however, I got to physically meet some of the users I Onboarded today.

I had @wildthougts, @blackavalon, @iammanythings1, and, @crazychess. Aside Hive, we are all chess players and friends so you can say it was a coming together of friends. It was that scenario of friends who haven't seen each other for a long time meeting to talk not just chess but Hive.

Arrival

@crazychess who is yet to write an introductory post got there first. I was surprised because I thought the choice of restaurant would be difficult for him to find. However lo, and behold, he was there already.

We joined him at some point anyway, however, @iammanythings1 was late. He complained about traffic, It's crazy how traffic in this country is way too much.

We waited for him for long, I personally started feeling hungry. It was already 10am and my belle was empty. I couldn't wait. He sent a picture showing he was stucked on the road. It was then I decided it was time to eat.

Food First

I took pictures of only my food and that of @wildthougts as I didn't bother to know what others were getting.

We had a plan to talk about stuff before eating However, hunger happened and we had to eat and drink. I've always been a fan of sticking to Rice in public. I could eat different combinations of rice in public but I would rarely try another meal. @blackavalon was close to eating Beans, I don't know who goes to a fancy restaurant to eat oil beans. But to be honest, it was attractive and tempting for me too.

I ate alot i guess because i felt tired already half way into the meal.

@iammanythings1 Is just so fun!!

Considering the that I last saw him 2 years ago, I expected the vibes to be on the low. But no, He was so exciting and funny as usual. He also got to eat upon his arrival and we waited a bit before we started talking.

Let's Talk Hive & Chess

We didnt stay up to an hour with each other as we had other things to do.

@crazychess part was simple. We concluded that he would be writing is intro post soon and I explained his way around. We chat often so I expect him to meet me privately if there he encounters problems.

@wildthougts has been on Hive for close to a year now, he knows alot already and is doing well. We joked about alot of things and I encouraged him to keep up the good work :) & also help me to teach the rest markdown styles as he knows it well.

@blackavalon is the best writer among us. Very skilled at writing and word plays. He joined Hive along side his sister @jachy. The latter has focused on video contents just like I did when I started. While @blackavalon writes quality and I like that.

The P2p problem

Yes, this was another case discussed. Only blackavalon and Wildthoughts have an active binance account and understand the p2p process. So I advise @crazychess & @iammanythings1 to use them as alternatives if they want to withdraw. The ladies I'v brought too have a similar problem. @starstrings01 helped, but I think it would be a case of everyone learning and getting verified on Binance.

The Hivechess organized by @stayoutoftherz commenced on Friday and me, Wildthougts and Iammanythings participated. We discussed about the tournament and decided that we would put more efforts into doing very well this season. @wildthoughts is currently 12th in the standings while Mike and I are 21st and 23rd respectively. But its just the first round.

In conclusion...

It's fun when my friends are on Hive too, it makes hangouts interesting.
