Greetings!
In this life, there's nothing like freedom or free will and this is because, the moment you think you are free, you are already being captured back. What do I mean by this, since human want is insatiable, no human can be said to be free even from oneself.
In most cases, when we think we are free from others captivity, then we are ourselves are being captured by our thoughts or mind and that's why I would say that we are also not free from our minds or thought which means that, aside from the society we are living in that have series of rules and regulations, we humans too are not free from our thoughts and minds.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “Free will.” According to the content of this prompt, there's nothing like free will when it comes to what's obtainable as regards to the rules, laws and regulations of our society.
As we all know that in our society we have rules and regulations which are being put in place to guide the activities of everyone so as to maintain orderliness in the society. This alone would always work against the free will of everyone in the society as it would surely limit the activities and the thoughts of everyone in the society.
Although, we have some people who have no good will, if these kinds of people should be allowed to go ahead with their free will which if not curtailed by the law of the society could spell doom for everyone in the society. So, to me, it's good as we were all being boxed to a corner in the way we all exercise our will.
So, to me, there's no way we can have our total free will being effected under the law and regulations of our society as it could amount to chaos and loss of order in the society.
I'm sorry to use this example, the situation that made me to know that we have no free will of ours was when I heard it that if anyone attempt suicide on him or herself but fail, he or she would be charged to court and then sentence for the act he or she attempted to commit. It's when I was told this that I got to realise that there's no free will anywhere as the government owns us and our activities, even our lives aside God who created us who has the final say over our lives and being.
In conclusion, I personally don't believe in we humans having our free will as this could spell doom for the entire world if man could freely express him or herself and her thought which might be evil, but one thing I still know is that, people with good motives are being allowed to do express their will under the ambit of the law of the land.
