Honesty they say is the best policy and it goes a long way in building a long lasting relationship. Without honesty, there is no relationship that would stand. It's through honesty that humans can build a long standing relationship. I have over the time seen people building their relationships on lies, but in the end it fails as it could not stand the test of time.
So, in this life, one policy that we must all embrace is honesty as it would surely go a long way in strengthening our relationships with others and not only about that, but also help us in building a long standing relationship that would be able to stand the test of time.
Having said so much about trust, honesty and relationship, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the SciFi Multiverse community which is all about, “The importance of honesty.”
Like I have earlier said, honesty is the best policy and we should all try to train ourselves to be honest as its importance is so numerous to behold, one of its importance is that it helps to build a long-standing relationship. One thing that I have noticed in life and in the life of so many people is that, they hate being lied to or better still, they hate being deceived even if they themselves are liars or deceivers, they still hate being deceived. So, for one now to relate with others, we all need to be honest with each other, as it would help us to go a long way with each other.
Sometimes ago, I started a business but because I was not around, I brought in a cousin of mine to help me manage the business pending the time I would be available but because of his greediness, he began to be manipulating things and as a result he told me lies which prompted me to chase him away and that's how he lost the golden opportunity of him helping me to manage my business which would have helped him to make ends meet for himself too, now he has nothing to do and the last time I saw him he was just roaming round the street. That's what dishonesty can cause.
Two, honesty helps to maintain and sustain relationships, from what I told us about my cousin above, it's not that I chased him away only, but our relationship broke down as I could no longer trust him with anything anymore. Although, he came begging and I have forgiven him, but even at that, our relationship is gone and gone forever, honesty can maintain a relationship which is of great importance, but dishonesty would only break and scatter a relationship.
Another thing that I want us to know is that, honesty helps to sustain love and trust. When people say love is all that is needed in a relationship, I would tell them that love alone cannot sustain or maintain a relationship but honesty and trust which are the pillars of a long-standing relationship.
