Domestic violence is one of the menaces of the current society. This has caused and brought about divorce, scars and even death among the people of the world.
But in the beginning of the world, it's not so as this can be seen in the book of Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
What the above scripture means is that, if a man loves his wife, he loves himself and that there's no way one would hurt himself for the love he has for himself would not even permit that. A man's wife is himself and they have become one.
But now, the reverse is the case as the spirit of the devil has hijacked people's minds to hate their spouses, thereby causing them to have to strive at home to the point of hating each other, beating each other and even killing each other in the course.
In the book of James 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. This scripture made us understand that it's the work of the devil that would turn a wife to a punching bag in the hand of her husband.
It's equally the devil's work that would also make a husband to hate his wife and always wanting to beat and even kill her.
Also, in Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. We were made to know about a spirit which is a spirit of disobedience which now walketh in the children of disobedience which is the evil spirit.
According to Bro. Eli, it's this spirit that's causing confusion and hatred in every home and in marriages thereby causing failed marriages as a result of domestic violence.
