Greetings!
Punishment and reward are two tools that can be used to make the lives of people both young and old meaningful. In this life punishment, children will think that what they are doing is the best and they would never learn from their mistakes, likewise, without reward they would not be motivated to do more. So, both punishment and reward are very essential in making this world and our society better in which one is meant to correct mistakes and the other to improve lives.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive learners community which is all about, “Punishments and reward.”
One thing that I have learned over time is that both punishment and reward are the essential part of children's lives and without both, the upbringing of a child or children would be stalled.
Like I said earlier, punishment helps to enhance corrections in children and it's one of those things that makes the Life of a child meaningful. It also helps to make the child know the right from their wrongdoings thereby making them to turn a new leaf and live a better life which is expected of them, however, if a child is supposed to be punished but not eventually punished but instead rewarded, then such a child would not learn from his or her mistakes which might be dangerous for the child upbringing.
So, punishment to me is one of the ways through which a child can learn from their bad behaviour as this would really help them to learn from their mistakes and know the right from their wrongs.
I personally have learnt so many things from being punished. I could remember being punished by my parents on so many occasions by then in those days. These corrections have really contributed to my growth and development in life. Without their punishment, I would have been a spoiled brat and the blame would have been on them for not teaching me the right way to go.
But, I thank God for the kind of corrections given to me by them.
Another thing I love so much about my parents is that they would never punish me alone. The same way they punish me is the same way they reward my good behaviour. If there's anything I do to make them proud, they would not hesitate to reward me for my good deeds. I have been rewarded by them on so many occasions and I thank God for them and their lives as they have through their system of punishment raised a good and responsible me for our society.
Their carrot and stick system has really made me who I am today, and I can boldly tell everyone that I learn so fast and better through their system of punishments and rewards.
In conclusion, it would be wise and better if both systems of punishment and reward can be joined together to raise a child as both help the children to learn better.
This is my entry to week 226, episode 01 of the weekly featured contest in the Hive learners community.
