I remember having this imagination when I was much younger. Most of my actions back then would have totally been crazy, lol. But presently, I would take a different approach in some aspects if I was granted such opportunity for twenty four hours.
Well, twenty four hours is a limited time for such a rare opportunity, but I’ll find a way to make do with it. First of all, the ability to be completely unseen and not heard from by anybody is something that I would really cherish. There are some days I just want to be like a ghost; not seen by anyone, or having to talk to anyone. So in a situation like this it would really grant me the opportunity to have a such experience.
Now for the things I’ll do, I’ll be honest, I’m likely to do some crazy things, but they are for the good. One of the things I’ll do would be involving our leaders. One thing that pains me on a daily basis is the sight of the terrible state of the country. The suffering, the hunger, and the nonchalant attitude of the leaders despite all these.
So what I’ll do if I am invisible, I would act like the voice of God to those in power. I am going to whisper to the ears of the leaders things like “meet the needs of the poor masses or something bad will happen to you!”, “stop lying to the people and tell them the truth”, “fulfil your promises to the people”, and stuffs like that. I‘ll make sure to do it with a very intimidating and frightening voice so as to scare them.
I’ll also write some notes like ,”Hurry up!”, “You have 24 hours”, “The clock is ticking.” I’ll write these words on papers and place them where they can see them. I can also make use of a marker and write it on their windows. I can only imagine the fear within them, that is if they still have a sense of human nature in them though.
But if the twenty hours is rounding up and there’s no response, then I’ll turn to a ‘Robin Hood’ for the remaining hours left. That means I’ll locate where their millions are stashed—which were obviously embezzled or gotten from means which are not genuine—and share the much that I can to the peasants. This may not change their lives but at least it would be able to put food in their belly for a day or two, and if I am able to do some good for one day it is something.
The first plan that flew into my mind when seeing this prompt is to get on board on a flight leaving this country and to start a new life. But that doesn’t change my roots. When a family is going through crisis, as member what you should strive for is to make it better, and not to flee to some other family and become one of them. And besides, I believe that every country has their own problems as well, none of them is exempted. The solution will never be running, but to stay back and find a way to fix things.
This is my entry for the @indiaunited weekly contest and this is how I am likely to spend my twenty hours if I were invisible. Feel free to participate and share your own ideas. Here’s the link for more guidelines and info.
Thanks for reading through. Chow for now!
