I think he is trying to qualify for Candidates 2026 via rating and there is specific number of games that you have to play in order to be able to participate
If I am not mistaken he is currently playing tournament in Canada or it finished these days
Also maybe he just dont want to play it anymore

There was a lot of talk about him playing these smaller tournaments with lower rated players in order to get the quota for candidates - Nakamura himself did not like the way it can be reached and I think FIDE did change the rules on the higher Elo rating difference points gaining in games - you can check that if you like it
