I have come to realise that one of the fastest ways to achieve your goals is to help others to win. In this era, a lot of people think that they have to focus on only themselves or even push others out of the way in order for them to achieve their goal. But what they fail to understand is that success does not work that way. When you help others to rise, you will also rise yourself. Of course, when you help to lift others, you are directly building a powerful network of support, trust, and shared opportunities. These network will become what will carry you forward and will also provide their support when you need it the most.

You have to understand that generosity does not just talk about money or other material things. It also includes sharing your time, knowledge, connection, and even your ideas. Do you know that someone can introduce you to someone else and it will mark the beginning of your career boost? You see, he did not give you money, but he actually gave you something beyond money. This is also generosity. If you help someone solve a problem for example, or reach a goal, then you are creating value. This value stays a very long time, and will also build a solid foundation for good will. People will always remember how you made them feel, and the help you rendered to them when they needed it the most.
There is a natural human pattern of reciprocity that I have observed. When you do something kind for someone, the person will also want to do something kind for you. When you help a coworker in their task, when they finish, they are more likely to help you with your own. If you have a favour to do for someone, and two people ask you for it, but you can only do it for one. The first person is someone who has helped you in a lot of ways, while the second person is someone who does not like helping anyone and has never helped you. Who will you most likely help? Definitely it is the first one. You see, humans have the tendency of returning generosity.
When you share an idea with a beginner for example, along the line, they may bring you a fresh idea that may change your business for the better. When you focus on how you can serve others, you will build a strong circle of support. At that point, you will not have to chase success alone, because there are lots of people who genuinely want to see you succeed. You see, your efforts will be amplified, which will also lead to a better result. Of course you will agree with me that the result you get when you work alone will not be the same result you get when someone is working with you.

It is also worthy to note that generosity changes your mindset and the way you think. When you focus only on your own goals, you may begin to live in fear. You may also worry about competition, and see everything as scarce. This can easily lead to stress and burnout. But when you switch your mindset to generosity, your mind will also switch to abundance. You will see that what you have will be enough to help someone else. This way of thinking will make you to be more relaxed, more open to opportunities, and more creative. People tend to love working with generous leaders because they feel safe and valued around them.
You also need to know that helping others also improves your own skills. One of the best ways to master a topic is to teach someone else the same topic. When you explain something difficult to your friends or colleagues, you will understand the concept even better. So you see, your generosity do not only benefit the person you show it to, it also benefits you indirectly. The time and the energy you spend to help people are not wasted. They also help you for your own personal growth. Each time you have an opportunity to be kind or generous, see it as an opportunity for self-growth too.
