Do Not Judge Your Tomorrow And Your Future By Your Present Situation

One of the biggest mistakes that some people make is judging their entire future by what they are facing at the moment. There are times when things may look tough or difficult, and they may begin to think that it will remain like that forever. Some people also look at their current circumstances, and then try to use them to predict what their future will turn out to be. But what they fail to understand is that their current situation is just a chapter, not the entire story. You will agree with me that a book does not start and end with just one chapter. In the same way, your entire future should not be solely determined by your present situation.

When you take a seed in your hand for example, it does not look like a tree. It may be very small, just like the mustard, which can easily easily overlooked. But inside that very little seed lies the potential for something great. Imagine having a small jar full of mustard seeds. In your hand, you may think you are having just a small jar, but in reality, you are having a full plantation. If you judge its future by how it looks inside the jar, you will never believe that something great might come out from it. Similarly in life, you have to understand that where you are going to is far greater and holds more importance than where you are at the moment.

It is true that you may be facing some challenges at the moment. You may even be struggling financially. Or maybe your career is not at the point that you expected it to be. It is also possible that you may have made several attempts, like applying for job opportunities, yet was rejected. At that point, you may begin to feel like your efforts are producing little to nothing, and it may make you to think that it is how it should be. However, you should understand that none of these challenges should define where you will end up. The route you took to a destination may be rough, but what matters is that you have arrived at the destination.

One of the things that you should understand in life is that your temporary situation should not become a permanent conclusion in your mind. There are people who experienced seasons of uncertainties, failures, disappointments, challenges, and even rejections. The difficult moments were real, but they did not allow it to become their final destination. They kept moving, trying, learning, adapting, and believing that their circumstances will change. This became a driving force for them, and finally, they achieved success. A lot of the people you see today as successful also had their difficult moments, but they never allowed them to become their final destination.

It is worthy to note that what may look like a setback today may be what is positioning you for something better tomorrow. For example, a closed door may force you to discover a better path. Applying for a job and getting rejected can give you enough time to develop yourself, or even start a business of your own. A failure might expose you to your weaknesses, so you can work on them and become better. In addition to this, a difficult situation can help you to build patience, resilience, discipline, and wisdom. There are some qualities that you may never develop, and some hidden strengths that you never knew you had if you did not face a challenging situation, or if you did not go through rough times.

You have to understand that things change, situations change, even challenges can be overcome. Someone who is not employed today can become an employer of labour tomorrow. Someone who is struggling to learn a skill today can become an expert tomorrow. Someone who has been rejected many times today can find a life-changing opportunity tomorrow. So you see, your today should not limit your tomorrow. After all, your current position may describe where you are at the moment, but it does not describe where you are going to. So keep moving, keep learning, and keep making progress.
