Despite regular harvests to make salads for dinner, the lettuce just keeps on growing. The green leaf has well outpaced the red though, I'm not sure if there is any red left in the pot at all. If there is, it's well hidden under that green canopy.
I'm really happy it's done so well. We just need the tomatoes to start producing now so that we can round out the salads a little more.
The silverbeet are coming along. These came out of a punnet I was given and didn't seem to like being transplanted too much. This little one has rallied now.
The dwarf green beans are also starting to get larger. I sowed these directly in one of the large pots and there are four about this size now, plus a fifth that's only just come up.
The rogue tomato up the back seems to be doing okay, although some of the newer tomatoes were looking a bit drawn. I wasn't sure if this was due to a lack of water, or because the plant had just been left to grow as it wanted and had put out branches everywhere.
I gave it a good trim, taking all the lower branches off. A few had started to put out fruit as well. Perhaps now it will do better as it can concentrate all it's resources in one place.
Until next time,
