The United Nations Committee for Development Policy (CDP) creates an indicator based on the per capita income as well as considering the social issues to sustain development. On the basis of which the CDP is divided into three categories: LDCs, developing and developed countries. 48 countries including Bangladesh are now in the list of LDCs. After every three years, the United Nations CDP reviewed the status of the countries in the list. After analyzing the overall speed and nature of the economy, it is almost certain to achieve the eligibility of the LDC list of Bangladesh in the evaluation of the CDP. Method
Three things are considered in the transition from LDC to developing countries. These are per capita income, human resources and economic risks. These points are calculated on the average points of the previous three years. At least two of the developing countries have to be 'graduates' in the index. Bangladesh has passed an index in the latest CDP review of 2015. If you qualify in the review of 2018, the next three years will keep the same condition in the index. The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will then recommend removing the developing country. After three years, in the General Assembly of the United Nations 2024, Bangladesh will be given the status of developing countries.
