Today, I will discuss the new Beluroc Aegis from Splinterlands a Common Neutral unit that has quickly caught the attention of players thanks to its remarkable Taunt ability. Although it is a common card, when used with the right strategy, it can serve as a formidable defensive wall for the entire team. Let’s dive into the details of this card.

The New Beluroc Aegis is a high-mana-cost unit that enters the battlefield with substantial Armor and Health. Its primary strength lies in the 'Taunt' ability, which draws the majority of the opponent's attacks toward itself. Taunt is one of the most crucial defensive abilities in Splinterlands; when active, it compels most enemy units to target the unit possessing it. This allows your team's fragile yet high-damage-dealing units to continue attacking safely. Furthermore, a major advantage of the New Beluroc Aegis card is that it can be used with teams of any Element, as it is a Neutral Unit. Consequently, it can easily be integrated into your strategy alongside various Archons.

However, if you wish to use it in battle, I personally prefer placing the New Beluroc Aegis in a middle or rear position when my team includes key Magic or Ranged attackers. Thanks to its "Taunt" ability, enemy attacks are drawn toward the Aegis, allowing the attacking units in the back to survive longer and deal more damage. This strategy is particularly effective in high-mana battles, as it protects other team members by absorbing the opponent's attacks. Keep in mind, however, that the card's primary role is to absorb attacks rather than deal damage. Additionally, its high mana cost makes it difficult to use in low-mana battles.

However, my personal opinion is that the New Beluroc Aegis might seem like a very ordinary card at first glance, but in reality, its Taunt ability can alter the course of an entire match. When used in the right deck, it protects your key units and creates opportunities for victory. Despite being a Common card, it is one of the most effective defensive Neutral Units in the Foundations set; it works exceptionally well alongside units capable of self-healing and becomes even more potent when paired with an Archon that provides Armor Boosts.
To wrap things up, if you are looking for a neutral tank capable of drawing enemy attacks to itself while keeping the rest of your team safe, the New Beluroc Aegis is an excellent choice.
