Hi everyone, how are you? I hope you are all doing well. In today’s blog post, we will discuss an intriguing Common Unit card from Splinterlands: the Frostbark Elder. Its combination of the Death and Earth elements makes it a unique character within the game’s fantasy world. And no, this isn’t some flashy Legendary card.it’s a Common one. This means that everyone, from new players to free-to-play grinders, will eventually get their hands on it. The best part is that it can be played across two Splinters: Death and Earth. Let’s dive into the details of this card.

The name "Frostbark Elder" itself hints at a mysterious identity. "Frost" suggests coldness, while "Bark" refers to the outer layer of a tree. "Elder" implies an ancient or experienced being. Combined with its Death and Earth elemental alignment, the name paints a picture of an ancient, powerful, and enigmatic character. According to Splinterlands lore, Elders are never in a rush; they move slowly and strike deliberately but once they take their stand, they become nearly impossible to displace. This dual Death and Earth nature makes the Frostbark Elder a truly compelling fantasy card.

In terms of gameplay, the Frostbark Elder is best utilized as a front-line tank. To understand this card, just keep one thing in mind: an "Elder" is essentially a wall. If your team lacks a solid tank, place the Frostbark Elder at the very front. Its role is to absorb the enemy’s initial blows, allowing your damage dealers in the back to survive and strike back. Alternatively, if you already have a stronger tank, you can position the Elder in the second slot; once the front-line tank falls, the Elder will step up to become an immovable wall.

However, the Frostbark Elder does have its weaknesses most notably, it is quite slow, which means enemies will usually land their attacks first. Therefore, it works best when paired with an Archon or Summoner that provides a 'Speed Buff.' It is quite vulnerable to magic; even with high armor, magic attacks bypass it and strike your health directly. If the opposing team relies heavily on magic, avoid placing the Frostbark Elder alone in the front line, ensure you have cards nearby that can provide 'Magic Reflect' or 'Silence.' Furthermore, since it cannot deal significant damage on its own, it is not a 'finisher' card; you cannot use it to quickly eliminate enemies. Its primary role is to buy time, so you must include a strong 'damage dealer' in the back line.
In conclusion, the Frostbark Elder is a common Death/Earth unit card in Splinterlands. Its name, element, and design evoke a mysterious, fantasy-themed character. Winning in Splinterlands isn't just about buying expensive cards; it’s about placing the right cards in the right positions. The Frostbark Elder is the kind of card that stands quietly at the front, anchoring your team and leading you to victory. That concludes my thoughts on this card, thank you, everyone!
