Hi everyone, how are you? I hope you are all doing well. Today, I will be discussing the "Darkguard Hellion." It is a common-rarity, dual-element unit card, combining both the Death and Fire elements. With its powerful attacks, high speed, and several special abilities, this card is a compelling choice on the battlefield. Let’s take a closer look at it.

The Darkguard Hellion is a unique unit card belonging to the Fiend bloodline. It primarily engages enemies through melee attacks. A key feature of this card is that it grows stronger as a battle progresses and more enemy units are defeated, making it a formidable offensive unit. Notably, with 5 melee attack and 5 speed, it can launch swift and powerful strikes against opponents.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this card lies in its special abilities. For instance, its "Flying" ability grants it an additional 25% chance to evade enemy melee and ranged attacks (though this benefit does not apply if the attacking unit also possesses the "Flying" ability). Furthermore, it is immune to "Earthquake" damage. When the Darkguard Hellion loses all its health, its "Enrage" ability activates, boosting both its melee attack and speed by 50%. Another powerful ability is "Bloodlust" whenever the Darkguard Hellion defeats an enemy unit, all of its stats (Attack, Speed, Health, and Armor) increase by 1. Once it secures a defeat, its subsequent attacks become even more devastating.

When deploying the Darkguard Hellion on the battlefield, there are a few factors to consider—most importantly, its positioning. As a melee unit, it should be placed where it can attack effectively; for example, it can be utilized from the second position if supported by the "Reach" ability or other similar traits. Additionally, in battles where multiple units are likely to be defeated, the "Scavenger" ability can prove to be highly effective. Furthermore, thanks to its 'Flying' ability, Darkguard Hellion gains a distinct advantage under the 'Earthquake' ruleset. However, it should be paired with support cards that can provide protection and help eliminate enemies quickly. Despite its strength, Darkguard Hellion does have some limitations; with a mana cost of 9, it can be difficult to field in low-mana battles. Additionally, it lacks specific defenses against magic attacks. To fully harness its potential, it requires the right level and a well-thought-out battle strategy.

In my view, Darkguard Hellion is an intriguing and promising 'Common' unit card. When its abilities Flying, Enrage, Scavenger, Life Leech, and Bloodlust work in tandem, it can become a formidable opponent on the battlefield. For those looking to build powerful teams using the Death and Fire elements, adding this card to your collection is a sound decision. Its effectiveness is particularly noteworthy in high-mana battles and under the 'Earthquake' ruleset.

Ultimately, Darkguard Hellion is more than just an ordinary 'Common' card; with the right level and strategic application, its power can be significantly amplified. It serves as a potent attacker from the start, growing even stronger as the battle progresses, thanks to its various abilities. If you enjoy experimenting with new strategies in Splinterlands, Darkguard Hellion would be an excellent addition to your deck. That concludes my thoughts on this card, thank you everyone!
