Was in a discussion with my co-worker this morning about Crypto (he's not invested and skeptical), he was throwing the classic questions/statements like "it's not backed by anything" "prone to hacking" , the same questions witnessed time and again . For many it is difficult to handle new people into this world but I was handling them all like a pro. We're all familiar with the answers. Then, he hit me with "What happens if you die and you hold coins?". I had to take a minute and think for a while, I wasn't able to give him a really solid answer. Told him I'd do a bit of research tonight and get back to him. Here's what I found.
Due to the nature of cryptocurrency, your estate probably can't bruteforce their way into your private key to recover funds in the case nothing is setup.
If you store the private key for them, it's possible that it gets lost, or discarded if they're not sure what it is, resulting in your coins being lost forever.
I went looking for a commercial project - commercial products generally provide ease of use for the 99%. Here's what I found.
There's two I found, DigiPulse & MyWish.
MyWish is a great platform as a whole, although not specifically focused on the passing of coins, instead smart contract execution. Because of this I prefer DigiPulse. If a project focuses on too many different projects, some are sure to get left behind while the team focuses on the most sucesful ones.
DigiPulse is a platform exclusively for Crypto inheritance, which is why I like it. In short, it has a real use case and a working product, right now.
The team is strong, and the devs actively contribute to their github. This is shown in the BETA being released less than 3 months after ICO.
Great advisors, I saw one of them runs the biggest startup accelerator in the EU - this is huge for the team as they'll be able to use their advisors connections to literally 100s of different companies.
The market cap is tiny. If you're considering having a couple of moon shots, DGPT is probably the closest you'll get to sure bet. The exchanges leave a bit to be desired, and a new exchange listing is confirmed for the first week of April.
They're already getting noticed by the mainstream. Not many project get attention from the mainstream . Do they ?The team are TechChill finalists and are being featured in a Forbes article. This boosts the project even more and legitimize it a little more .
If you couldn't tell, I'm really excited by this project. After discovering it today, I did make a purchase (full disclosure!). I'm super glad that there is a solution in BETA for Crypto inheritance and I'm curious to hear your thoughts!
