About a week ago, my boyfriend and I traveled to my hometown to visit some friends and fellow Stemians @hethur240,
@jasonrussell and
@melodyrussell! It is about two and a half hours from where I am currently living. The weather was absolutely perfect! Just about comfortable T-shirt weather in the upper 50's and even creeping into the 60's with beautiful blue skies!! I have been missing the rivers back home and we all decided to go explore (or just enjoy) Baptism Hole on the Jacks Fork River.
The water was a beautiful blue/green and very clear
This little armadillo seemed to be living in the root wad. He startled me a few times
Bash (@jasonrussell and
@melodyrussell's sweet dog) immediately went right for the water
Here are a few shots of the river and the bluffs:
A lot of the trees along the river were uprooted and knocked over with the heavy flooding last year.
I really liked the reflections on the water in this picture. There is actually a pretty neat cave tucked into the bluff here.
A more close up shot of the cave. You can kind of make it out through the trees
It was just an absolute pleasure to sit on the warm gravel and look for skipping stones and other interesting rocks.
Diego is my buddy! He also belongs to @melodyrussell and
@jasonrussell.
@melodyrussell enjoying the beautiful day with Willie Nelson and Emma Jane (belonging to
@hethur240) sniffing around
@hethur240 getting some lovin's from Willie Nelson and the kiddos playing along the river in the background
We really could not have asked for a nicer January day in the Ozarks! I can't wait for Spring to get here bringing all of the beautiful flowers and leaves on the trees so they don't look as bare. Thank you for checking out my little mini river adventure!!
