I captured some photos of a visiting swallowtail - what a joyful experience. These are exceptionally beautiful butterflies.
There are over 500 different types of swallowtail butterfly!!! That is a big number! They are from the family Papilionidae. Most are to be found in tropical countries but they are to be found in all continents apart from Antarctica.
Swallowtails are often depicted in art as a representation of grace and free spirit of the human soul.
Nature is so incredible- I never take it for granted, it is a constant source of inspiration and joy.
