Hello friends, your otaku nurse here, this time with another Naruto tidbit: THE TOADS' SONG: THE GENJUTSU THAT EVEN PAIN COULDN'T IGNORE
The Gamarinsho is the most dangerous genjutsu in all of Naruto, and it's not performed by an Uchiha. It's sung by Ma and Pa, the two ancient toads of Mount Myoboku, and it's an auditory genjutsu, not a visual one. That's why neither the Sharingan nor the Rinnegan can break it, because it doesn't enter through the eyes, it enters through the ears and paralyzes you from the brain, trapping you in a world where you're enclosed in a cube of water with four giant toads surrounding you.
Jiraiya used it against Pain, and it was the only time we saw all three of Pain's paths fall simultaneously. Not even Nagato with his Rinnegan could break free; he had to bring the other three paths to kill the toads and awaken him. It's a genjutsu that requires the two toads to sing in perfect harmony for several seconds, which is why it's so difficult to activate in combat.
What makes it deadly is that there's no way to escape alone. In a normal genjutsu, you disrupt your chakra flow, but here you're completely paralyzed; your mind and body are sealed. Only someone from outside can awaken you, and if you're alone, you're dead. It's the perfect genjutsu for high-level demon slayers.
And while it might seem like a funny technique involving two singing toads, it's proof that senjutsu surpasses dōjutsu. While the Uchiha needed eyes to capture you, the toads only needed their voices. It was the technique that bought Jiraiya the time he needed to uncover Pain's greatest weakness.
